I think this Valentine’s Day might have been my favorite thus far, and I didn’t even have a Valentine!
I decided to celebrate my single-ness with some of my other fabulous single girlfriends and hosted my first ever get-together at the apartment last night. I baked cookies. I baked brownies. I made 7-layer Mexican dip. I made a Cream Cheese and Salsa dip. And I didn’t do any damage to my apartment kitchen while doing so! I feel like that is SUCH a huge accomplishment for me.
With some wine (alcohol free for Michelle and I, who have both chosen to give up alcohol for Lent), some tasty treats, and some good company the evening was well spent. We amused ourselves with anecdotes from dates gone bad and relationships lost. I think the funniest moment might have been when both Michelle and Elizabeth (who met for the first time last night) realized they had both dated the same guy within about a month of each other 2 years ago! It’s such a crazy-small world out there.
I think Girls’ Night is going to need to become a staple in my life. : )
