I’m considering a move to blogspot.com. I hate that you can’t comment on the tumblr! I am considering keeping this one to keep up with the girls and to post things just between us, so we will see…..

Sorry I’ve been a little MIA. Lots of drama going on, families are FUN!
Enjoyed myself at South Central in Tulsa. Who would have thought? The kids cracked me up. I found myself at a banquet table of members ages 5-20, and it was seriously the best time I’ve had at a banquet since I was a member many moons ago.
Everyone’s visiting Austin this week. Smiles! Enjoyed some...
Oh, the memories...
Yesterday was Jerry’s birthday. I think his birthday will forever and always remind me of my very last Regional Tour with C.A.R. because it was on his 21st birthday that I boarded a plane and headed to San Francisco for what would turn out to be a road trip full of debauchery, and possibly the best summer of my life.
It’s now 6 years later and I can’t look back at that summer...

Below you will find the the re-posting of a blog from my beloved facebook wife, Sarah. It had me in tears at work from laughing so hard as I read it. I even had to explain to Julie my hysterics. But before I let you enjoy the wonderful goodness that is Sarah, a few things of interest:
1) MADELYN MARIE IS MOBILE! She took her first steps yesterday! I’m such a proud Auntie! Lindsey sent me a...
I was going to post a picture of all of the bruises that I’ve acquired during the moving process, but I decided that I didn’t want to scare you. Let’s just say that there’s about 20, and I wish I was exaggerating.
The kitties are adjusting to the new place and the new roomie. So am I. I think I’m going to like it at AMLI Scofield Ridge! If only my boxes would unpack...
Moooooooovin' on up....
It’s my most favoritist time of the year, MOVING time! I am officially out of my old apartment and will move in to the new place tomorrow. Until then, I am offically homeless and staying at Bunker’s. It’s pretty convenient since it’s a 1/2 mile to my new place. I really hope to not be moving this time next year. Let’s just hope my contagious engagement disease...

-While I was home for Memorial Day weekend, our doberman Nausea had puppies. We spent a few days trying to find where she’d had them with no luck. Finally on Tuesday morning, Nausea surfaced for some food and led my dad to where she was keeping her litter… my dad’s old living quarters in our barn. Want to know how many puppies this little dog pushed out of her? 11! ELEVEN...
How can Congress say one thing and do nothing?
Tradition, mostly.

I completed my first ever 10k this weekend! Right at 1 hr and 15 minutes, too. Not too shabby! It’s definitely a mental thing, your mind keeps on telling you to quit… but you have to push through. At first I thought the people I didn’t know standing along the side of the road cheering were annoying, but it was really helpful towards the end. It was such a sense of accomplishment...
This weekend is one of my absolute favorites every year: C.A.R. National Convention! It could be the end of an era, as I do believe that the Hyatt Regency Crystal City has chosen not to renew our hotel contract for next year. So sad! Of course, this has been I do believe the third hotel I have attended National Convention, but we’ve been there for I think the last ten years… so it will...

I don’t even know this girl, but I think we could be best friends. Cameron introduced me to her Bachelor re-caps, which is pretty much the only reason why I still watch the show. Now I read her blog pretty religiously, and laugh my head off. She most recently blogged about a jazzercise experience that really spoke to me now that cute little college girl has joined boot camp. Enjoy!
I’ve been a busy little bee and dealing with the headache of not having my mail. I discovered this week that my mailman decided that I no longer lived at my apartment and took it upon himself to stop delivering my mail. To say it has been a headache is an understatement. I found out today that the post office has no more mail on hold for me so hopefully I will go home to find a full mailbox....

A few noteworthy things to say: My driver’s side door on my car is no longer functioning. Saturday morning I got up and drove to Bunker’s so we could go to breakfast before we played tennis. I got into my car and everything was normal. I arrived at Bunker’s and could not open my door. It’s just stuck. And crawling across the passenger’s seat to get in and out of my...
After three 3 mile and one 4 mile run this last week, I have successfully completed my first week of 1/2 marathon training! For those of you not in the know, one of my dearest friends from High School, Lauren approached me last week to run a 1/2 marathon with her and some friends in San Diego on May 10. Much to my surprise, I said yes! I think I have lost my marbles. Running a marathon (I guess...
I heard Kool and the Gang’s “Celebration” a whopping 4 times yesterday. On four different venues (3 radio stations and an After Hours Mix at BBW). How is that even possible? Guess someone really wants me to cel-e-brate good times, come on!

Last night I hosted my second successful gathering at my apartment. I feel like I should share the secret of my success because if I can do it, anyone can. Below you will find 3 easy-shmeasy *low-fat* recipes that will make the guests at your next party VERY happy! Mexican Layered Dip You will need a 12-inch dish for this, I have been using a glass pie dish and find that it works very nicely....
To vote in the Democratic Primary or Republican Primary, that is the question. I will state very clearly, I have no intention of voting for a Democrat come November… but it’s very intriguing to vote in a primary that could make or break a candidacy for someone. I would cast my vote hoping to break someone’s candidacy. Decisions, decisions…
I think I’m going to train my cats to become professional cat wrestlers. It’s quickly becoming one of their favorite early morning past times. I don’t even look up and acknowledge them anymore when I feel the pitter patter of wrestling cats across my feet. Early voting has been phenomenal across Texas. Collin County has already had a turnout in the thousands when in the last two...
Top 5 highlights from my 3 day weekend: 1) I totally rock even more at Rock Band than I do at Guitar Hero. I even beat Bunker in most rounds with my guitar playing and singing skills. I should start a band and go on tour if my 90+% accuracy at Rock Band on medium level says anything about my success. 2) With my freckles and fair skin, I should always remember to wear sunscreen when playing tennis....
I have discovered a new place for girls to meet guys. Concealed Handgun License Classes. No, I didn’t actually meet a guy… but I was the ONLY girl! 1 girl and 19 guys, pretty good odds, right? We won’t actually go into the specifics of the guys that were in the class… but it’s just a thought for those of you who are looking. I might have had better luck with meeting a...
I just want to go on the record and say that I told my mom last night on the phone that Romney would not be on the ballot come the Texas primary on March 4. Score one for me!
I think I’m giving up alcohol for Lent. We shall see how that goes. Maybe I should give up voting because I’m not liking any of my options at the moment. Very much enjoyed my time in Lufkin. Ella is the smartest 2 1/2 year old I’ve ever met, but I might be a little biased. I will ignore the fact that she feels strongly that everyone should always have their fingernails...
My cat’s new favorite game? Attack Jamie’s feet at 5 am. It’s super fun. Or super annoying. It’s too early in the morning to figure out which. I’ve been alone in the office all day. It’s been nice. It would be nicer if there weren’t a million billion children walking around the Capitol today. This wouldn’t normally be suspect as we are the field trip...

I woke up to my cats wrestling again. I wonder if this is going to be part of our morning routine now. I do have to say that at least Giada pinned Smokey a few times today, a much better showing than yesterday morning. Tomorrow I will have my camera ready just in case it happens again. I need to buy some new pants. NONE of mine fit anymore. Boot camp is starting to pay off, weeee!
I woke up to the funniest thing this morning. As most people know, my cats have started sleeping in my bed. Lately, Smokey has gotten a little protective of my attention. I think she senses that Giada no longer has a mommy and she’s not very sure if she wants to share hers. It’s still dark outside and I’m awoken because I keep on feeling something running across my feet. I come...
I am a freakin’ wedding MAGNET. On Saturday I had a random customer at Bath and Body Works actually invite me to her wedding. Of course, judging by the flier it might be some sort of cult wedding where they’d probably make me drink some sort of punch. And it wasn’t like the wedding is next week and they’re looking to fill some seats… it’s not until June! I...
Cosi has opened in Austin! I am so freakin’ excited. It’s only one of my most favoritist sandwich places that I frequent just about every time I’m in DC. I am now craving some s’mores like no other. It’s probably a good thing that it has opened in South Austin on the complete opposite end of the world from me. I also discovered last night that McCormick & Schmicks...
Noteworthy news...
1) Brad doesn’t have cancer! His platelet levels are up enough to put him back on his hepatitus medication, at a lower dosage. They will be monitoring him more closely so this sort of thing doesn’t happen again. 2) My roomate is engaged. Oh wow. Currently looking for someone to be my new roomate come May. At the very least, you can probably get a proposal out of it since love is...
Say a Little Prayer
I’ve kept something to myself for quite a few weeks now. Anyone who has ever met me knows that is very unlike me. I don’t know if I just haven’t wanted to face the situation at hand or just can’t process the information, but here goes… My little brother might have cancer. Some people know that while he was in “the big house” he was diagnosed with...
